FAQs
How does membrane-less work ?
We replace the semi-permeable membranes by means of water vapour. To avoid high infrastructure dimensions, we simulate gravity using a rotating turbine.
Can this technology be used anywhere in the world ?
Absolutely ! As long as a river (fresh water) ends up in the ocean (salt water), osmotic power recuperation can take place. Of course, the larger the river discharge, the more power output.
Are you open to collaborate with Universities on research projects ?
We have done some collaboration in the past with Universities and would definitely do it all over again ! So yes, we are open to this.
What are the next steps for Deltadriven24 ?
Our main priority for the coming months is to gather the and finalise pre-seed funding stage so that a first prototype can be developed. In order to develop such prototype, we will need a solid and reliable partner bringing expertise in the field of fluid dynamics and in general, water technologies. Is this you ? Please use the contact form to get in touch.
How much money has Deltadriven24 raised so far ?
Since the launch of the company, Deltadriven24 has been self-funded through the shareholders.
How much power can this technology generate ?
Based on our calculations and estimates, we foresee a first prototype with a power output of 2KW. However, a full scale factory using our technology on the Rhone river (France) would produce 500GWh/year, aka, enough electricity to power 200,000 households.
Is this the answer to the world’s energy needs ?
Let's put things differently. Can Deltadriven24's technology accelerate the transition to a sustainable world? Definitely and in fact, we are striving to be a major advocate for blue energy development as a renewable energy source. We do not see blue energy as being the one and only answer to our energy needs but rather, we chose to take a "more is better" mindset when it comes to renewables.
Why is Osmotic power so niche / unheard of ?
Osmotic power theory has been around for a very long time. However, its application in modern world energy creation has seen some serious drawbacks, mainly linked to the necessity for semi-permeable membranes which are costly to produce and maintain. Deltadriven24 focuses on Osmotic power recuperation but without the membranes, thereby proposing an innovative and efficient source of power.
Where is Deltadriven24 based ?
We are currently based in the province of Luxembourg in Belgium.
